Seems like it was in a fire possibly at some point. I was looking for a project car but is this one too much or is it possible? Don't have too much info on the car except that it's a 4spd 350

 

Fire cars are always questionable. It will all depends how hot it got. If the fire temps got over 400 degs under the hood for much time the heads and intake are warped. Any Sheet metal getting that hot would be warped and tuff to get right.

 

Looks saveable to me,the distributor cap isn't even melted.
That said the cost to restore will probably exceed the value of the car when finished.
Even if it was a Z28 it would be questionable.
1978 Camaros are coming up in value but they have quite a ways to go to be cost effective for restoration when they need a lot and a type LT wouldn't bring high dollar.

The good news is that car should get you enough dough to purchase something else worth restoring and leave you with enough cash to buy some parts if you part it out.

I appreciate y'all commenting on this thread. It was a affordable price for me but I'm thinking of walking anyway.. I ended up finding this car through some personal connections. Have no real clue where to look for a good 78-81 car that would be fun to work on. I keep watching ebay and all but they're all kinda out of my range for a rough project car. I'd take something rough that's a low price (this was priced 800$) so that's kinda why I was looking at this one. No point in an 800$ paperweight if it's that bad, though.

Have you checked with the local clubs in your area ? Is one possible choice.

 

I haven't yet, I might try to ask around in the Facebook groups but I honestly dislike Facebook. Are there better websites?

 

Offer $500 and part it out,if the body is straight and not rusted out you could make a few buck s on it.
