Default Newbie Here. Help?

Hey guys first time posting here. I just recently began trying to get my dads old 77 camaro back to decent running/driving condition and cant seem to find the correct pump to carb line I need, seeing as I stripped the original due to it being lock-tited/rusted on.. Its a base 305 2 barrel, and I was just hoping one of you would know a line that would work. Thanks

well nothing is pre made thats bent in that set up you coud do one of 3 things buy a new steel line and bend it to fit. but 2 brass barbed fittings and run a rubber line and lasty look through a junk yard for a steel one off another engine they are all very similar in shape from 66-86. i have a rubber line on my car and have had no troubles in over 10 years with it

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I tried to bend a steel line but kinked the **** out of it on the first bend. I think the best bet would be the rubber hose.

just make sure it is a fuel line and not just a rubber hose and you will be good to go

DO NOT use rubber fuel hose from the pump to the carb. It's a safety reason, which is why it was never done that way at the factory. All it takes is a chafed or melted spot on the hose to cause a leak on the engine and give you a carbeque. But I always see guys at shows who are living on borrowed time, using rubber hose. If you're dead set on rubber, or just plain have to for custom fit (non-factory) reasons, then make it stainless braided hose.
By the way, Summit has the plain steel or stainless steel lines you're looking for to do it right: http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...rder=Ascending

I use rubber hose sparingly. Only where I need a short piece for vibration isolation, and never around any place that gets very hot. Surely not from fuel pump to carb.
