Back a few posts ago. I guess I'm ignorant. Why would a 383 built with good stuff at about 8.5 with a good blow through die from boost?

They already started. There is usually one every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Usually two or more places at a time, Friday and Saturday. Churches have them. we don't count the week of Summer Celebration. Ther are 11 nights of concerts during that time with a carnival and ALOT of tents. Then there is Bike Time when about 100,000 Harleys show up on the main drag downtown. There is a concert for that too and a beer tent every block for a couple miles down the street. We have one of the worst economies is in the worst state in the country. So we drink the pain away.

Had a guy tell me the other day that u can put 305 heads on a 350 and it will be ok.? more compression, more power. is that something that would work?

Generally and don't quote me on this, the 305 HO heads are the only ones considered for this swap. I've seen/read some of the numbers these heads "can" make, but im a sceptic. Yah it will work. Yes you will get more compression. Can you make more power? Some times. Will they make more power than my Canfields? Get the **** outta here.
If all I had was these heads then maybe I'd try to build a combo around them. I would prefer a set of vortecs if I were on a budget. They are still in the junk yard. Here in Michigan were everybody and his brother own a plow truck there everywhere.
So yes your guy is right. But to me its like kissin your cousin. Sure you can do it. It might even feel good, but it just ain't right.
