Default New here and need a little help. 79 has no power at all.

I recently picked up a 79 Camaro with a 305 in it. I am having an issue now where I have no power what so ever to the car. I have checked the battery and ground to make sure they were ok. Used a test light and I have power to the top of the solenoid from the battery. I have no power to any other spot on the solenoid with and without the key on.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Bad starter/solenoid?
Possible fusible link damage?
ignition switch?

Thanks for any help!

big wire to starter should have power all the time. little wire to starter should only have power when the key is turned to the start position. sounds like its time to start tracking with volt meter and see where power stops. have you cleaned the battery posts and cable ends. sometimes a coating will form on one or both preventing a good connection and can fail when to much draw is put on it.

I took the meter and started searching. Ended up being the fusible link right at the starter. pretty easy fix once I found out where the power stopped.

Thanks for the reply!
