New to forums having problem
Just bought a 79 RS Camaro love it to death but today i was installing new bulbs for the turn signals, brakes and back ups. the brakes work fine, the left hand turn signal is working but the back up lights, right hand turn signal does not work, also on the front the left hand turn signal flashes, while the right one just comes on doesnt flash (also shows it on the dash as in the left hand signal flashes and the right handle signal light stays on) im going to take it to my uncle who knows alittle more about wiring than i do. but thought id ask around here to find as much information for it as possible, thank you for your time and ille get some pics up soon of her.
hey! thas cooli have one of those and they are sweet~!, anyways, i had the same problem with mine when i just got it, in my case it was much easier than it seemed, one of the wires was lose, this created short (not good), my advice, just check the wires and follow the lines, i'm pretty sure the problem is somewhere there.
Ok now i have a question? how do u know it is an actual RS, i was told by the guy that sold me the car that it was, it doesn't really matter to me i love the car. But it would be nice to know.

wow im actually in the same boat as you, i dont know for sure the guy i bought it from told me it was as well, i wish you could figure it out some way. Oh well i took her out for the first time last night and it was amazing. i had some problem with the power steering i may have a leak not for sure have to find out tonight. Bu thanx for the reply if i ever find a way to figure out how to tell if it is an RS or not ille let you know.
Lots of times its just a bad ground somewhere or corrosion on the contacts inside the bulb housing. The blinker may be as simple as the flasher being bad, although I assume you checked that already. If not, Ive replaced most of my cars' flashers withelectronic ones, they seem more reliable and you can find them at any parts store.
I was also thinking a bad ground. Make sure that the contacts in your light sockets are good and clean too.
And you guys might be able to find out if you do have an RS or not. If the car was built in Los Angeles, the info will be on the trim tag. Otherwise, the only other way of really knowing is by the build sheet.

ON THE last tine after the B, there are some spaces on mine, meaning it is a base one, so if urs is an RS it should say 8 - Z28
S - Berlinetta Z - Rally Sport (RS) "-" or blank - Sport Coupe

Just got done looking through the glove box and checking the papers, i have the original papers from when it was first bought and such, and shes a true rally sport coupe was made in the norwood plant in ohio (same state i live in) so whats the big deal between rally sport coupe and sport coupe? Are they more rare.
