Default Need Suspension help on 1970 RS.

Hello All
I am very new to the 2nd gen camaro and just picked up a 1970 rs with a 383 4sp. In the past I have always been a vette guy and just sold my 2000 FRC (pushing over 600 RWHP) My question would be how can I make this camaro handle better? I am into road course racing (t-hill mostly)and i do understand it won't come close to the vette but I just need it to handle better. I do understand there is a coilover kit for the front but how is it? is there a better way? I have a budget of about $2,000 to do this. If there are any of you out in the bayarea I would like to take you out to lunch and pick your brain.

thanks

Subframe connectors and polygraphite bushings will help, along with fatter sway bars. You can make 2nd gen Camaros stick like a childhood nickname if you take some care in setting them up correctly.

Sounds like a good start. I will definitely do that. but how about the shocks or coil overs? I am looking to get the best handling without going to a full custom fab.
thanks

Acually the exact set up I'm putting under my car regularly whoops on Z06 vettes all day at the autocross. potouringf-body.com I have there entire comp set up, added to thet is a 12:1 ratio steering box, billet tie rod sleeves, g-bars, g-bar brace, tubular upper and lower control arms, and solid sub frame bushings. When I called Dave at ptfb I told I was specificly after handling on par with Z06's and Porche 911's. I hunt them with a mullet wig on ya know. I spent about $3300 for all of it, but they are considered the best bang for your buck out there. I would have run the race set up but they have a solid type front spring bushing and control arm bushing, there is no way of keeping water out of them. I just read your last post. It is a complete bolt on. And if your going to run sfc use a solid mount not poly.
-Good luck and welcome to the forum
