You can rule out the 67-69s. They are bringing 5k for a rusted out shell. I can not imagine a a decent 70-73 for less then 2k. Decent for me would be soild frame and floors I would imagine it would need trunk floor, partial quarters, rockers, lower doors and have repairable fenders. With your budget you might want to look into the later 70s. You could find a decent rolling chassis 76-81 for you price range.

 

yea i got my car,a 1980 for 400 bucks and it had motor and no rust...it costs about 2000 now but that was cuz of a motor and trans rebuild and alot of interior stuff.....but the late 2nd gens seem to be pretty easy and cheap......and if you want im pretty sure the early like 70-73 front clip will bolt on w/o much fab work if thats y you want the early ones...ive seen a 1980 with a 70 front clip but idk how much work the guydid cuz he was a bodyman
