I have a 79 Camaro with a 355 in it. I have done several mods to the motor including a set of aluminum angle plug heads. After figuring out that my current headers werent compatible with angle plug I went with a pair of Hedman that are. Problem I am having now is that the driver side #1 tube is too close to the steering column and it will hit it slightly when it turns. I can probably deal with that but the other major issue is that the collector is having trouble clearing underneath. So anyone have any suggestions on a header that will fit correctly and I dont have to modify the header or the car in order to get these installed?

Not sure, do you have any pics of your dilemma? never heard of headers not fitting angle plugs or not But im sure if you found someone who knows what they are doing to modify your headers it wont look that bad. use the old ones and mod them?
