You can do it either way. If you were to cut it I would use a butt end splice that's heat shrinkable to keep any moisture or anything out.

I have been nailed for no hood on my old T/A they say if the car was built with a hood it must be on. But it took over a year for a cop to say anything

What state was that in? Also, what do they say with Jeeps that have removable doors and stuff like that?

i know here in michigan, you can run no hood as long as there are no loose parts that will come off, they do frown on it tho

Well i think it isnt my fuse that is blown because everytime i try to rehook up my fusible link and then the battery cables it starts smoking in the original spot that it did in the beginning. So I think its grounded somewhere and i think its in the interior of the car. Also which one is the one time fuse you were talking about?

It sure sounds like you have a short.
The one in the second picture is your fusible link. Make sure you have power on both sides of it.
What are we looking at in the first pic? Was that a plug or coil wire? I would replace that, it looks kinda bad!
And what is that "14 module" that's attached to it?

Thats the thing. I dont know what it is exactly. Its at the end of the wire that attaches to the solonoid. The part where you see all the wires burnt through is the part where it burned. Where it says 14, I was just assuming its saying 14 gauge wire, but I could be wrong.

That wire went to the starter solenoid? Why does it look like a spark plug wire and boot? Or is that under your hand creating an optical illusion??
