I finally got my cherry picker back so its back to work on my Camaro. This is the new stuff that I got done: I got the motor out, the doors off, and everything is now off the firewall. Today I rolled the car outside and soaked down the front end with some purple power and pressurewashed it to get rid of the grease and dirt. Planning on starting to take the front end apart and getting the glass out. Here are some pictures I took today.

I plan on pulling it all apart and blasting the sub frame and then taking it to get powder coated. Same thing with all the control arms. Putting new bushings in all new shocks. Trying to locate a set of dropped spindles. Looking at some lowering springs and shocks. I want to get the car a little lower to the ground. Plan on putting lowered leaf springs in the rear to help out there. Not sure if i want to sand blast the under body or just wire brush it and paint it.

For what its worth, Camaros already have very good spindals as far as geometry goes. That being said I would find a shorter coil an lower it that way. Take a look at these guys. http://www.pro-touringf-body.com/catalog.html They have every thing under the sun to lower the car. They won't sell anything and tell you your gonna get X amount of drop with it. There are too many variables when it comes to the weight of the car to predict the drop so they don't. There gt kit is what your looking for as far as lowering though. It, I belive is around 2" front and rear depending. You won't find better prices. Dave is top notch for tech support too. When you call, you talk right with the owner every time. Try that with Hotchkis.

Oh yeah I forgot, their solid bushing kit can be installed so that the front sheet metal is 1/2" lower giving the illusion of lowering.

So I got to work on the Camaro alittle bit today. Finally, I got the windshield out to find out how severe the cowl rust is. I also dropped the gas tank and to my surprise, on top was the build sheet! Not much readable, but it was there. Also got to investigate the frame rails and check out everything under there. Here are some pictures of what I found.

The frame rails don't look so bad. How about the spring pockets? Everything else is pretty normal for a Camaro.

Summit Racing has lowering leaf springs on sale now for $85 ea. I just ordered a pair for my car. I needed to replace my nearly 40 year old springs anyway.
