im installing a new engine in my 79 camaro. i got the engine in and bolted up to the transmisson the problem is that i can only get one motor mount to bolt up. if i get one side in the other side is like an inch off. any of you guys got an idea whats going on.

 

Sounds like someone sold you mounts for a big block, not a small block.

 

I havd the same problem when I used truck clam shells from my pickup on on my Camaro. Switched them back to ones for the Camaro and all good.

 

If you have the high performance mounts they will not work. I had the same problem when I replaced my mounts.
