Default Motor Combo

I"m looking at taking the motor out of my 1980 Camaro in the next couple of months. The car has the 3.8 v6 and auto tranny in it now. I"m going to be looking for a Chevy 400 with a mild cam and a 4 speed to put behind it.

Is this a good combo.

I would go with a 5 speed from keisler. A 'mild cam' might destroy an older tranny.

Are you looking to run a 4 speed manual or automatic?

The small block 400 works very well and would be a good combo with either manual 4 speed or a 700r4.
