Its a 77 Z28. The car has a 74 350 vette engine with some work and a 4 speed tranny. It only has 80,000 miles or so. The bad is the car has some rust in the doors but thats about it. So you second gen guys what common problems should I look for? rust areas? common mechanical problems?

as far as common rust areas, you'll deffinetly have to keep a close eye on the rear frame rails, make sure you check those before you even pay a dollar for it, those tend to rust pretty bad really easy and ususally get to being rot in no time, other spots is like the floor boards, but with those cars especially those years, you basically have to watch the whole car and make sure everything is set, if you do purchase it, undercoat the body, and the subframe, it'll save ya a lot of time in the future with any problems, and it'll look good, but it sounds like you've got your hands on a pretty decent car, post some pics of it when you get it.
