Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and not much of a car guy but thought I might find some answers here.

I am wanting to buy a 1978 Camaro some time in the near future. The thing is I want it to have a black paint job with the tan interior. My question is would it be easier/cheaper to buy a black Camaro and have the interior redone, or find one with a decent brown interior and get it painted black??

Thanks for any information or help. Also if anyone knows of any decent Camaros in the style I'm looking for, that information would be much appreciated also.

 

Neither one is cheap, a lot depends on how picky you are about either the interior or the paint and how much you can do yourself.
Good paint jobs can be pretty expensive but if you can do most of the prep work yourself and find a guy that paints out of his home for cash (highly recommend getting references) sometimes you can save a lot. That said good luck finding a late second gen Camaro with nice interior or paint either one without spending bank.
Seems like the late second gens are rising in value quickly driven by the price of early second gens and first gens which are through the roof now.
Finding he right car is going to be a challenge ,you aren't going to have a lot to chose from given your color restrictions so you may have to go with what you can find and build on that. Wish you the best of luck!
