Here's one on Ebay, if you want to take a look at one for a 4 spd.

Thanks!
What Im thinkin about is using the plastic piece that goes around the automatic gear shift as a template...cutting a frame from that template, then mounting a shift boot just below that. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but...
I know it won't look stock, NO WAY! I'm not concerned with stock look or resale. I'm building this for me.
But if anyone has ideas, I'd gladly entertain them
Either way, I'll post pics as I do it. Then we'll have a new "do, or don't do this to your car". lol

Well here's my idea. I'd cut a piece of sheet aluminum to fit the hole in your console, and then I'd situate the shifter into the hole and measure the clearance needed. After that I'd cut the sheetmetal to fit and install the boot on the sheetmetal with screws. Once it was done I'd use the peel and stick vinyl sheet material to cover the sheetmetal and you're done.
That's how I did my filler plate for my B&M shifter to fit the factory auto console.

You just put into words essentially what I was thinking about doing. You're real precise on ideas for things you tackle. I wish I had that trait.
But...Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm planning on. I just hope I can make it look ok. The idea is there, the skills are there...I just gotta mate the two. Thanks

I was thinking and recently started looking into wraping one of mine in carbon fiber. Then cutting the hole to match the four speed bezel I already have. So far I'm looking at around 200-250 to do it.

One thing I forgot! I always make my templates out of poster board first. Then when it's all cut and fitted I use that as a pattern and trace it on the shettmetal. Saves making mistakes with good metal.
Shoulda seen the cardboard templates I built for the straight axle I put in my buddy's Nash gasser! It was almost a shame to toss them after I cut the real metal and welded the axle mounts up!
