iroc rims on 1980 camaro?

looks like they will rub, they make wheel adapters for this "problem" dont they, are the adapters safe?

I don't like adapters for the reason that I lost a front wheel using adapters on the interstate at 70 MPH.

should work, its gonna depend on tire width, i have 85z28 wheels on my 78 15x7 and my only rub is at lock going from a down grade onto a flat street. oh yeah 235/60/15 fronts
