Default intake manifold choice

whats the difference between the edlbrock air gap manifold and the performer eps???? besides the obvious gap for the air. which is a better manifold for performance. i got a 650 carb. and a stock cam. which im gunna change to a mild one. just curious cause the air gap thing is def. really cool . and i want as much as possible outta my car

The main difference is the air gap under the carb. The air gap prevents the carb and intake runners from heating up as much. (it's also a little straighter shot to the intake port...Cooler air is denser air, therefore more air and fuel = more power. However there is a down side to this...air gaps aren't all that good with a cold engine in cold weather. When the manifold is very cold the fuel canpuddle and you may have drivability problems.

I like the performer rpm, but it and the air gap are tall so there could be clearance problems.....

Also the cam you select will effect which manifold works the best...
