You might notice the heater is not even hooked up lol, just routed the hose in a loop, also used the small block pulleys and brackets for my alternator and stuff but it all worked.
I even used the 10" flywheel and the starter off the 327 that was in it.

Yea, mine's been a loop for the last few months since it started leaking.

Adam,
I just put new hoses on when I did the core, and I still put pieces of extra hose in two locations to keep the new hoses in nice shape. I always tie my hoses to the inner fenderwell mount, so I take a piece of leftover hose from the install and split lengthwise, then wrap it around before tying the hoses down. I also use a short piece where it lays near the alternator, as I've seen them rub through over time. I just tie them in place with black wire ties.
Good preventive maintenance.

yeah thats where it is rubbing, on the altenator mount, there is supposed to be a bracket on it that holds the hoses up but, like everything else on that car, was missing when i bought it lol

Back in my serious 4 wheel'n days I did that on hoses, fuel and vacuum lines and wires all over the place and lashed down anything else that could move especially the battery with extra padding and strapping.
I also carried extra hoses belts and other bits and pieces with me just in case, you learn a lot of tricks when abusing a vehicle way out in the woods, especially after that first walk long home.
