How much is my RS worth?
Hello everyone, I have a 1976 Rally Sport that is all original down to the 8-track player with only 59000 miles. I've owned the vehicle for 6 years and put 20000 of those miles on myself. The car is sound in every way and I've never had any problems with it. I'm in military and keep getting deployed (I've been in 3 years and spent 2 1/2 years away). I have all the original documents, like the bill of sale from 76 and most maintainence records. The car itself has a black hood and top of the coupe and the rest of the car is yellow the paint is starting to fade although it looks great it could look alot better, it has only one or two chips in it that I've found. It has the black bucket seats which I believe are vinyl. I've only changed the gaskets, seals. belts, hoses, rear shocks, and brake lines. Brakes, engine, tranny, exhaust, etc have all never been touched besides to clean. I believe it needs a minor resto because the right side of the dash is starting to curl and the back dashboard is starting too as well. The carpet and seats are in great shape but the carpet is starting to come up in the back seats. The air conditioning works good. I need 1 of the trim rings and 1 of the center caps. The passenger rear taillight needs to be replaced (It has a quarter sized hole in it). I'm assuming the 8-track needs to be reworked and I know one of the speakers doesn't work. Mechanically the car is ultra sound, not so much as a shake and the brakes don't squeak even at 30 years old. I would like to know if its worth as is without the resto being all original, or if a minor resto would bring up the value. I've been told altering the vehicle in any way lowers the value. Well I'd appreciate any help surrounding this.
