i got my 200-4r from extreme automatics and will handle around 700hp and 600-650tq. you can get 200-4r's to handle alot of power but you have more power than i do as i only have around 500-550hp at crank. with your amount of power i'd go with a 4L80 from jake and they can be full manual without controller. you will need to shorten driveshaft and replace crossmember. if you wanna run a mechanical speedo you will also need the mechanical tailhousing for extra $400-500.

I've heard good things about this company, but didn't see anything on their site about a 4L80E that would make it a 4L80 without a controller? Maybe I missed it when I looked around there. Even their transbrake 4L80E still uses electronics from what I could tell?

here it is val from his website.
The new Jake's Performance 4L80E transbrake is here! We have designed an all new transbrake for the 4L80E. It does NOT require a deep pan like our competitor's unit. It can be setup as automatic with computer controlled or can be built as a full manual setup where no controller is required.

ur welcome, that would probably make a sweet tranny for racing and the street but a little expensive unless i did one myself, then added the transbrake.what u think about the 4L80e val,is that a pretty tough tranny from the factory.like the 400 is,or needs lots of work to handle the power.

I haven't had much experience with the newer 4L80E. All I know is what I read about them, and it's all good from what I hear. They've been compared equal to the old TH400, with electronics added. But even they aren't cheap in stock form, unless you get a good deal used.

The subject in this paragraph is the transbrake option, not the trans itself. A transbrake is used for drag racing, in place of putting your foot on the brake pedal. The brake can be set up with a controller to unlock it when the engine hits a certain rpm, or you can have it set up to where you switch it on and off manually. This is what that "computer controlled or full manual" reference is to. I see nothing on that website saying anything about a 4L80 (non-E).
