Default How much do you think this thing is worth?

My dad has a 1980 Z28 that has been sitting in storage for a long, long time. It is silver with black interior, the last time it was driven was in 1986. The car only has 4,496 miles on it. He bought it brand new and is the only owner. He put new rims, shocks, and shifter **** on it but still has all the originals. The only defects are a few very minor door dings and a paint drip from the factory paint job.
He doesn't plan on selling it at all, but I am just curious how much this thing might be worth. I would appreciate any input.

wow that is a nice car. it blows me away how a car so old could only have 4 thousand miles on it. i put that on a car in 3 months. well i bought my car from the original owner and it was $3000 but it has 125k on it and its not a z28. it also had some rust but not much. id personally say you should be able to value it around 14 or 15k but if i was you id never sell it

well in condition like that to a collector or someone wanting a show car it could be priceless to some, i paid $1000 for my 79 z28 with rust in both front fenders and some body damage, but it just depends where you are and the demand for them i see nice ones go from 1000 to 4000 around here but theres a steady supply here back east that thing would probably go for over 10 grand easy

That's a sweet car, Nada say's $7,950 on average and $15,600 as a high retail but im not sure where they get that from but i say to the right person or collector you could deff get over 10K assuming its not seized and needing rebuilds from sitting since 86 and it is all original etc etc. BTW im not 100% sure but didn't that thing come with a centre console? Maybe it was an option? and what were those gauges put in for, any mods?

Really I love the car and understand it hasn't been out in awhile, but them Keystones gotta go. As for value lets say it worth more than I could spend. You should clean it up and role it outside for some fresh air and take some better pics. Put the stock rims back on it too. As they say in the hood make it proppa. Then take as man pics as you can stand of it. Under the hood under the car. Everywhere. That thing is a great tool to document exactly how they looked from the factory. Post up some too.

The only thing I have seen close to that is a 80 T/A that comes to a few shows around here. That car still has the window sticker in it and smells new.

Very nice car your dad has there. Clean it up and show us.

Thanks for the input.
The center console is sitting in the trunk with the original shifter **** in it, right next to the stock rally rims and shocks. I am not sure why he put the gauges in there but he has not made any mods to it. He was 25 when he bought it, maybe he just thought they looked cool?
I do realize that the Keystones are a little corny but it looks like this all of the time:
So it really doesn't matter what rims are on it. haha. The driver side just has some old junk rims on it:
I missed my chance to take a lot pics the last time it made it out onto the driveway for a bath because I was gone. Its kind of pain in the butt to move around because it is on blocks and you have to push it. If it ever makes it back out of the garage I will grab the camera and shoot away.

Being on blocks and probably not being driven much could adversely affect the car's value if it has created issues. Very common for rigns to set and begin smoking, or leaks in the engine, tranny, or brake systems to develope. All of which will bring the value down a bit. The gauges seem odd with a car that came with full instrumentation, as is the console being deleted? The gauges should be removed, factory wheels installed, and the console reinstalled to gain the most value and collector interest.
