i looked up homemade cowl hoods online and found this forum site http://forum.olskoolrodz.com/showthread.php?p=585839 I'm thinking about doing this my dad has the ultimate set of tools what do you guys think about it?

Yes, you'll be losing an inch of filter surface, but I don't see that as a restriction for you unless you're running a huge monstercarb. " not a bad idea...

Hey, that would work pretty well for a low budget cowl hood. Wouldn't be too hard to do either.
