Hey guys, I have a holley electric fuel pump mounted back by the tank, it works awsome but is really loud. I was wondering if anyone knows of away to quite it down some.

Not really, there just loud. Try a rubber isolator between the pump mount and the frame. Your other options are the new Eddy pump. Its supposed to be quite but I have no experience. Then there are the in tank pumps.

Is the noise consistent, or does it change it's tune according to how you're running the engine? I haven't had a Holley elec. pump, so I can't say how loud it's supposed to be, or not. And I don't know if your idea of loud is the same as other peoples?
I presume you have a fuel pressure regulator hooked up before the carb? If it's not a return style, you could be over-working the pump, which might be the reason for the excess noise. Another option is to insulate the pump, but I'd be a little concerned with that making the motor run hotter.

I have had three Holley blues. All sound like hell. The worst was my drag car with no interior.

Hmmm, if it's that bad by nature, then he either lives with it, or gets a different brand. I take it, you were running return style regulators?

No dead headed. I've been wanting a return regulator but haven't nailed down how or where I'm going to mount my pump. I may just get a Walbro if I can get one that will work with a carb.

Then we need to find out from the OP if he's running a return or not. The pump motor runs easier when the fuel supply isn't being stonewalled toward the end of the line.

No, they make a rapid bumping or thumping noise. My pump is also set up without a return line and does the same. I simply used a piece of 1/4" rubbber and nylock nut to isolate it off the frame and it's fine. I hear it when I turn the key on, but not with the engine running.

It's quite possible that the OP's problem is that his exhaust isn't loud enough!
