heat riser block off

heat riser block off
getting my new carb and it has an electric choke, can't seem to find a block off plate for the heat riser on the stock manifold. i don't want to get a new set of intake gaskets that come with the block off, but would rather block it off from top of the intake.
i have my stock heat riser still. can i leave it in and plug the 2 holes? or any other ways around this?

Where that heat riser tube is headed is an open hole to the exhaust crossover port in the intake. But isn't that also where your EGR valve was?
If so, get an EGR block off plate, or make your own.
