Default Harwood scoops on an early 2nd Gen

I am looking to put a scoop on my '73. I was looking at Harwood's Aero Mini I Scoop. Does anyone have any picture of their car with one?

This one to be specific:
Catalog > SCOOPS > Aero Scoops > AERO MINI I SCOOP (CLOSED BACK)

or something somewhat similar. Looking on the website without seeing it on the actual car it is intended for leaves too much for my imagination.

Just my opinion, but not a very good looking scoop. I'd rather go with one of their tall cowl hood pieces for a pro streeter myself. Like this 6" cowl if you need lots of clearance:

I have seen tons of those on the early second generations. No doubt they (cowls) look good. Some of those larger scoops definitely look odd on the cars. Especially the really large ones you wonder how you see around.

I was just thinking I would get more air introduced with the other scoop. I realize that there is the high pressure area at the lower area of the windshield. I think it already has a 4" cowl fiberglass hood. Maybe just leave it as is and see what happens?

Turns out the girl I hired to help me on Saturdays, her boyfriend has a body shop about 15 minutes from my house! Sweet! So I may have him finish up my body work, prime and paint it. That's why I was wondering about a new scoop. This past week was just so slow...

I think I'd be looking at engine combos to figure what you'll be using, and then decide if the present hood will fit, or if you need a lot more clearance for the intake/carb setup. I personally think it looks weird to have a huge scoop, but open the hood and there's nothing high enough up to need the scoop.

I think I am looking at a 572. I want to take her to the strip, not really a street car. I was thinking more along the lines of getting a nice cool blast of air into the carb(s) On another forum I frequent there is a guy up in Bay City, MI that does engine builds and from what he posts he knows his s**t.

But you're right, I am probably jumping the gun a bit and need to settle down.

ever watch the guys running at the track. Pro Stock is about the only place for a scoop. Otherwise it is more of a drag at high speed than an advantage from forcing more air in. You will actually pressurize the engine compartment causing the front end to lift and creating even more drag. Stick with the 4" and dont worry about it.
