There is no hub in the rear axle. It takes all of maybe 10 min. to pull an axle once you have it jacked up and the wheel off. If you bring it over Sun aftrnoon I'll take a listen to it and see if two ers are better than one.

don't I also have to drain diff fluid to remove the c-clips so the axles can be removed? I would love to bring it over so you could maybe listen to it and see if it is the wheel bearings but it's tags are expired and i don't have liability on it since i'm not driving it in the winter :/

LOL I drove the T/A to work without as much as a plate on it a couple weeks back. Starter in my truck is dying and I only had 10 min to get there.

hahaha nice! i drive my camaro around the block with my expired tags lol I might of driven it anyway to Vall's if i had liability on it but just comp now that it's garaged. It's kinda risky driving around the block without liability but i'd go nuts if i couldn't drive it at all lol

Yes, you'll have to pull the rear cover to get the axles out.

I wasn't trying to instigate you. Here its less costly to get caught without a plate then a improper plate. I haven't transferred the title since the guy gave it to me. The biggest advantage was living a mile from work.

well i drove the camaro a little today and I'm not sure exactly what sound it makes but it's not a screeching sound or high pitched sound. Not sure if it's a moan like a wheel bearing but it's kind of a vibration below 20mph then at faster speeds it makes a howling/whirling sound. maybe the wheels aren't centered or balanced.

tomorrow i'm gonna test it more by seeing:
if the sound continues when I turn the wheel left or right
if the sound continues when coasting
if the sound changes with different wheels/tires
if the sound continues with car under no load on jackstands

Doesn't really sound like a driveline balance issue to me. I'd lean more towards the wheels, or tires. Might want to have a good spin balance check, and have them check to ensure they aren't running out of round too. Did you have them balanced when they mounted the tires? If so, I'd be sure they did the check for free.

tomorrow i might take off my cragars and put the cheap ones on that came with the rear end that i got and see if the sound is still there to eliminate the wheels/tires. I can't remember if i had them balanced when i had the tires mounted but i wanna say that they weren't because the guy said that you don't need too with these good quality tires (mickey Thompson's). I know that Cragar's can vibrate since there hard to get centered with the uni-lug pattern too.

I used to have Cragars with the unilugs and never had any problems with centering.
