I wanted to replace the worn out v6 in my 81 berlinetta with a third gen 5.3L truck motor. would this be a good Idea or not? I figured get the block from a scrap yard for a few hundred or a catalog for 3 grand. Would a manual be easier to bolt behind this even though the car is an automatic now, or would a 4L60E or 4L80E be a better choice. The carwill be mostly street driven and every now and then taken to thetrack. I want what the Berlinetta was suposed to be in the firstplace a cross country driven car that can take corners swiftly forget the luxury part. I have lots of time and Ideas for this car.
