The only thing that sucks is the cast aluminum timing cover that I have isn't holding the front seal 100% and it pushed out today and oil is just all over the engine compartment. Installed a new seal and is slid in without me tapping it. Sealed it with the yellow gorilla snot so maybe this one will hold. I'll just get a really nice and new timing cover in a few weeks that's a two piece or something.
Then schmootz a little RTV on the cover before tapping in the seal.
I feel your pain. If you do get a two piece. Stay away from the Edelbrock ones. They have three little studs tacked around the crank to seal it and they don't seal worth a crap. I have a cloyes now with the adjustable cam button. Love it. Doesnt do much good without the matching Hex-a-just timing set up though.
Nice, I've heard people say that hearing a new engine fire up is similar to hearing a new born baby cry, both took lols of time and energy and the parents are really proud.
Hope your new baby doesn't poop it's pants!

I think it will be fine. Just a new timing cover and maybe a new balancer.
