Default 429-460 in Camero

It would be unique though...

The rear sump pan out of a 4x4 works great for putting the 429-460 in the Camero, you have to modify the transmission mount but it fits in really nice and the HEI distributor from Proform is about 50 bucks on ebay looks and works great too.
Since Larry Shindoa designed the big block chevy and quit gm to work for ford he designed the 429-460, 351c and the boss 302, keeping the canted valve idea from his earlier design of the big block chevy, which in my opinion is better then the small block chevy.
Have to say its about 40 pounds heavier then the big block chevy if you use an aluminum intake. Cast iron Ford is 720, BC is 680 with cast iron

Its not as simple as switching pans. Where is the pickup at for the oil pump? If you can clear that hurdle, keep in mind that car was never designed for that much weight up front. If you claim it has the ability to lift the car up, when it comes back down, that would have been the only time it goes up. There is no frame on an Fbody, you will need to at least tie the subs together. That is assuming you want to spend as much time, energy, and money as you would have to do it right and just get a BBC. Its not a ford vs. chevy thing either, I own both, but to me its not worth it at all.

I had an instructor at NTI who did this exact thing a 460 in a 79 Camaro. He said he had an S-10 with a 460 in it as well but it was lost in hurricane Katrina. (we told him it happened for a reason)
