Default Fatty air filter on 307

i have a 69 with a 307, its not running to well right now but i threw on a big air filter compared to the snorkel like one it had, if my car was running properly, what kind of improvement do you think i would see, was the old one really restrictive

nice to hear that someone besides me has a 69 307. I have a open air cleaner element as well. The old ones are pretty restrictive. I have a 4 barrel carb on mine, do you still have the rochester 2 barrel on yours. I am involved in the antique automobile club of america and everyone ive talked too says that you will choke the engine with the snorkel air cleaners. I dont know it all depends on what your engine has on it, is it all original or does it have upgrades like a edelbrock manifold. i was told especially if you have a 4 barrel to run the big open air cleaners. Write back and tell me about your car.
