Exhaust Making funny noise o.O
Or at least i think it's the exhaust.
When i changed from the 396 to 350 i had to jerry rig my exhaust to fit. I haven't been able to get it on a lift and check it yet (Just moved, no garage available atm... Have to take it in to the local shop) But i decided to ask and see what you fellas might think it is.
It's a small ratling/knocking noise that only happens when it is in gear (Reverse or Drive) and the car is physically moving. It begins at about ~700 RPM (Like 10 MPH)and just gets louder as speed increases. If i really hammer it it lessens until i let off the gas and it gets loud again.
When i'm in reverse it almost sounds like the drive shaft is rubbing against something... IE regular intervals of a scraping sound.
I did a burnout up to 2000 RPM and barely heard anything until i started moving. In park/Neutral there is no noise up to 4 grand.
If anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear em, and will give an update after i get it on a lift.
Oh yeah, it basically started right after i changed the oil, which honestly doesn't make any sense to me, as the engine sounds beautiful when it's in park. I hope to god it's not the tranny, as i already replaced it once not too long ago, along with a flex plate.
Oh yeah, i found a 454 for a decent price as well. Might have to replace a few things, but it's a nice starting place.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/504338749.htmlMost likely this one. However a guy from work is also selling a 454 thats built to the teeth, and he wants to sell real bad.
I also found a 70 camaro, Rebuilt 350/tranny/suspension. All the misc window molding/kick panels. for 3500. I'm heavily tempted to purchase that car and just part it out for my car.
Hell the Rims/Rubber alone are worth 1000 Dollars. The chrome is another 500-600. Plus i'd have a car to tub and turn into a drag car.
