Default Engine pad numbers-what do I have?

Just purchased 1968 RS/SS, 396/375, 4-speed, NOM. In car now is a 396, on the engine pad are numbers and letters, can't find anything that tells me what I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Engine pad reads as follows: T1221 IV 18F157000 (this last set of numbers are really faint, this is what I make them out to read. Also, is this the correct way the pad is stamped? Thanks to everyone for their knowledge about the Camaro.
