Default Engine Pad Number What is this?!?!

Only found three numbers on my block. FYI bellhouse and transmission connected.

1) V0419800 found on the pad between the alternator and passenger side valve cover. CAN NOT*** find number like this on internet. checked 15+ suffix/code listing sites thoroughly. nothing. all i gather is its Flint; April 19th. i assumed its 80 but i really have no idea what the last three mean.

2) Located just above the oil filter were two sets of digits written upside down. 207 on top of a 11N.

3) 379 written on the walls of the block.

new to chevys. school me.

cheers

The first number you have is the VIN number. You should be able to compare it to your car's actual VIN and see similarities if it's a numbers matching car. If you're looking for a casting number you should find it behind the driver's side head right beside the bellhousing. Mine has two numbers above the oil filter and are 010 and 020 and I'm told those are the metallurgical contents and should match with the ones behind the timing cover. I'd need to see the 379 to tell you what that is since I have no clue right now.

My engine's also an earlier engine and possibly has different coding than yours. Have you tried checking Moretec?

Check these two links:

Number One

Number Two

That site will also help decode the numbers once you find them.

You may also want to check here.

Of course I'm assuming that it's the 1981 Camaro that you have in your sig...
