Drag strip results?
If all you have is an 1/8 mile track cause you live in Rhode Island or somethin, maybe the thing to do is lock up the parking brake right when you go through the eyes and crank the wheel hard, get her spun around and head back the other way.
I did 1/8th mile runs as they were free. I won a free entry as a door prize at a car show. Anyone at the dragway could do as many runs as they wished as all you had to do was get back in line after each run. I got 11 runs in about 1 to 1.25 hours. Fun night and not much down time.
The drag strip is actually the pit row at the Iowa Speedway. If you attempt to do a 1/4 mile run you will hit the track banking and run right into the wall.
Drag Racing is not really my interest though I do like having the results for comparison with others.

hey i was just wondering wat exactly does a stall converter do? ive read about them when reading about camshafts because Comp Cams will sometimes suggest an aftermarket stall converter, but i never knew why, or where it is actually
A stall converter is a converter that gets the maximum torque at a higher rpm compared to a stock converter. The idea is to put the engine in the "sweet spot" on its torque curve, which is higher in the rpm band when you cam up and run more air in and out. All converters "stall" or spin up before reaching maximum torque, some just do it more than others.
A stall converter keeps an engine with a higher idle speed from fully locking up too early and pulling you through the intersection or lights. A lower stall speed will either pull on the car, or stall the engine.
My buddy had a stock converter on his big block 32 Ford and with the brakes locked up it would still pull his car into the intersection at idle! He went with a 2000 stall and it worked fine.

never taken the camaros on the strip...yet. my 74 camaro is still being built (i got a 400small block in there but had it stroked so now it's a 408. Got bowtie heads, 205 and 160 valves, roller cam, roller rockers, super vic intake,750 holley db pumper, 150 dome pistons, crowler roller lifters, MSD dist, built 350 turbo trans with shift kit, 3200 b&m stall) so i'll be interested to get that out on the drag strip. However, we only have a 1/8mile strip, unless i do as some suggest and flip around real fast.
However, i did take the mustang on the strip... *gasps* i own a Ford?!? what can i say?
it was my first car.... not proud of those numbers (but what do you expect from a v6?)

appreciate the responses guys, ill look into that... i plan to rebuild my 350, bore out cylinders, cam, lifters, springs, pistons, roller rockers. the comp cams i was looking into said that a stock converter should work fine, but should i change it just to be on the safe side?
