Default Does it matter if?

Is there are difference between having black or chrome engine bay as far as the temp. aspect goes?


EXAMPLE : Black engine bay?
EXAMPLE : Chrome engine bay


Chrome dipped, powder coat, Polished, ??


It sucks joining this board so late. I feel I missed the good stuff. I would hate to ask what has already ben asked a million times already.

Good general question that's always relevant. Black doesn't reflect heat like chrome, so black will be a bit cooler and dissipate heat faster than chrome. Not a huge difference, but if things are already hot, it might help a little.

Probably won't make much difference, but a chrome firewall may keep the passenger compartment a little cooler, and the engine compartment a little warmer.

i personally hate chrome i like the black or gunmetal every thing in my car

I don't like too much of anything. Too much chrome looks gaudy, and too much painted looks plain. I prefer a mix of chrome, or polished aluminum, with painted pieces. Makes a nice contrast.
