Crate engine decision

If you hear a couple bad reports about a outfit, they've surely got more you haven't heard! I'd steer clear of any place that had even a couple bad reviews from people you know.

Well the more I look and read, the more I'm leaning toward Patriot Performance. I have yet to hear anything bad about them or their products. They aren't the most well know engine builders, but they're reasonably priced and they use quality parts in their engines. And on top of it they have a warranty.

what outfit did you hear had bad reports?

Crate engines
Rather than rely on second hand comments regarding poor customer service, we would invite any forum member to visit Speed-O-Motive. Stop by anytime as we're always running the DTS dyno and CNC Rottler F-65's. Concerning the post we use"cheap parts" please understand we have built many engines over the years for all different levels of customers. Every customer receives a detailed invoice or build sheet identifying each part used and matching their quote. In addition, we now provide a 3 page blue-print sheet where we put in writing every clearance and spec. Typically supplied on only our race engines, this is now available with every engine.

Well, I found one more engine to add to the mix...and this one just happens to be very close to home which is a major plus. Procomp builds their own crate engines...I'm still waiting to find out a price and get a spec sheet/build sheet on their engines, but if the price is right I'll probably end up going that route since they are so close to home.
