how much do you think that will cost? I could probably find some at a local shop right?

yeah any local parts store should have them, usually $10-$20 tops. You can try cleaning the cables if you want with a wire brush, water and baking soda.

Check your battery ground cable connection to the frame. Actually, due to the heavy amp draw of the starter, it's better to have the battery ground go directly to the block. Then have a jumper ground cable from the block to the frame.

if you think that its a power issue check to see if you have 12 volts at the red wire on the distributor or the batt terminal on your alt.

ive had the same problem before but it was because the starter solenoid had got locked up due to heat my headers would cook it and then you turned the key and not a sound would happen dead silence i had to deal with it for a while because is was my only car at the time i tried all sorts of heat shield ended up heat wrapping my headers lol took me 3 days to do it while on the car. Any ways when its locked there were a couple of things you can due to get it to break free one is take a rod and hit the solenoid i don’t like this because you have to hit it quite hard the other thing you can do is bypass the solenoid with a metal rod if you have someone with you to turn the key while you do it this is dangerous but since it sounds like you have the car in the garage the best thing to do is pull the starter or you can if you know where the bolts are just pull the solenoid any ways once you have removed the starter/ solenoid you can clean it out and reinstall this sometimes works but it better to just head to Napa and pay them $11 for a new starter solenoid this may or may not be what’s wrong with your car more likely though its a bad ground someware
good luck
