Hey I have 2 cars atm and trying to figure which would be better to keep and fix up and which I could use for parts.
vins I have are for a 79 and 80 I think, I am not really too sure tho.

Thanks. hmm the 79 says it can be a sports coupe, rally sport, or z28 with a 350ci engine, which of the 3 would that be? the 80 says the same but with a 305ci.

 

lift your hood, on the drivers side there will be another plate just on top of the firewall and to the hinges, if its a Z28 it'll say so there along with the paint code and "body by fisher" badge... same for you 74454, if your's was a Z28 it'll have that, I forgot to mention that before... Ill get a pic and show you,

 

and I believe if the 5th didgit is a "t" then it was a 350 car...

 

The trim tags will tell whether it's a plain Sport Coupe, Berlinetta, RS, or Z28 only if it's a Los Angeles built car, which luckily both of yours are.
By the VIN #'s, your '79 shows to be a Sport Coupe, 350/170 h.p. engine, built in Van Nuys, CA.
1980 shows to be a Sport Coupe, 305/155 h.p. engine, built in Van Nuys, Ca.
I would say the '79 is the keeper, but get the rest of the break-down off the trim tag.

I checked mine again, it's just the coupe with a 350 2bbl...no Z28

Yes, 74454, looks like yours is a RS or type LT if you dont have that...
