Alright, so i turn to heat and nothing blows and i turn to a/c and it just makes a racket like the starter is trying to spin and its murdering the flywheel (i know we have all heard that before, so seemed like a good example) ![Smile](https://camaroforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
the belt on compressor has been bypassed with a smaller belt
as far as i can see everything else as far as vacuum lines are hooked up for it
there is one going to the air filter cover that says a/c and nothing is running to it, also there is a vacuum line or two going behind carb that one has a screw in it to bypass it, and the other was siting there, looked like it went to the HEI vacuum, but it was running fine with it off but i plugged it back up.. havent drove it since
but it has idled perfect and everything so i was thinking it was maybe for the a/c stuff
im use to a mechanical secondary carb, or EFI
Also: the stripes on a z28, are they a sticker or does a paintshop pinstripe them on? how does that work
ive got a lt model, and when i get repainted black i want to get the z28 stripe

1) Heater core could be plugged, not connected, heater fan not running.
2) Is the compressor belt shorter or narrower.
3) Noise is probably due to a bad compressor, or something into the heater fan housing.

Stripes come as a stencil kit if you want to get that, but the stencil wont work if you've got a cowl induction hood, as that isn't factory and they are for flat hoods.
Or you can have your paint man lay them out using the Chevy assembly manual. If you need the layout I've got it here and can send it to you?
Then there's the 3rd option. I wanted something that had the factory look, but was slightly different, so I gave the factory specs to my paint shop and told the owner to "do something close, but use your imagination". He decided to space the edge pinstripe off a little farther, and to bring the nose pinstripes to a point on the insde edges, instead of rounding them. He did a great job, and I like the little minor detail changes he did. He also painted them black pearl, instead of just plain black.
