Thanks for the info.
I know this is a Camaro Forum, but does anybody know a rule of thumb for prices on vettes. Does 7400 sound fair for a 1976 stingray, numbers matching, in good condition? I thought it sounds really fair. Any info is helpful.

It sounds like a fair price. That's about what I see locally for nice clean 1976 Corvettes. As for numbers matching, most Corvettes are, as they generally don't see as much driving, or as many changes as other cars of equal age.

I agree, that sounds like a decent price if the car is in good shape, plus those old vettes are very cool looking cars.Just on a side note,it's funny that you asked about that camaro for $8,000,i just seen a 79 listed on craigslist here today, this guy thinks his car is worth $12,000 so there are definitely a few that really think they have gold haha.

yea sounds about right but for that price they should be in pretty good shape, not fair. They look to be in pretty good condition for that price in the seattle area.

I've never seen a Vett with that many miles. It must have been owned by a guy who wasn't afraid to drive it. That could be a bad thing. If I owned on I would no its limits, if you know what I mean. I don't care if its a 63 split window worth 50g, I'd still beat on it like it was a honda civic. If your rebuilding it that doesn't matter. But be prepared for oil leaks. The tranny and rear end are probably dripping a bit. For that kind of money I for sure take a look at the U-joints in the half shafts and ask for any maint. records. If there aren't any records then assume it wasn't maintained. Vette guys don't usually spin their own wrenches and are usually meticulous about regular check ups.
