has anyone dyno tested their stock or near stock camaro? what year and trim do you have? i can't seem to find any dyno test results. has anyone gotten their camaro to the top speed? let me know

 

go to NastyZ28.com it has the HP numbers for the second gens camaros,but the sticker in my engine compart ment says my car had the two barrel 350 with 140hp,but my dad pulled it out like 25yrs ago for a nother 350 that he built up to 375hp to the wheels,but i reckin it has about 200hp now just cuase it has had the crap drove out of it,but it is soon going to be pulled for a long over due rebuild. they can and will max out the spedo no prob,trust me even in stock form.

 

oh cool thank you this one website said the top speed was 103 i highly doubt that

 

hey dude i never got my dyno, but i just don't wanna know what i'm puting to the wheels i believe i would be disapointed, about the top speed you might not believe me but i've actually taken my 79 SC 350 up to 125 more or less, it actually read 128 but idk, still thas the most i wanted to go, that was before changing my suspention so you can imagine how weird it felt.

 

Hey David, when I first got my Camaro several years back I wanted to see how fast I could take her. It's a stock LT, so it has 160hp (according to nastyz28). Around 4,000 RPMs I was hitting 120mph and was still gaining speed....I wasn't even redlining it either. But I let off the gas because the car started to get the wobles...I bet it could even hit 130mph. One of these days I would like to Dyno her.

 

yeah 128 is plenty fast

and once you upgrade the motor the car will go as fast as the gears well let it,i have done 130 easy in my car but i had bad engine mounts so it would shake pretty bad and i had crappy tires so i didnt go past that but when i was i kid i remeber my dad barrying the spedo all the time and my car has a 130mph spedo.
So yes a sec gen camaro is very fast in either stock form or a street carving machine.

 

I have a pc of paper from the state of West Virginia that says my 74 LT 4 speed will do 126 MPH. Did you know that if you do a 126 MPH and a statey pulls you over they confiscate your car? Luckly my Dad knew someone. I got nailed for the tow impound and storage and $159 ticket. By the time I was done it cost me just shy of 1K and 6 points.

 

yeah thats what happens when you let your car take over you XD, i had to learn the same way so thas why i haven't driven the car that fast in a while. but yeah 2 gen camaros might not be "muscle cars" (at least later ones) but they are not slow ether.
