I've been looking at the Summit kits for months, but edog2 on the 1st gen forum just put a Summit kit on his 1st gen Camaro, and posted pics there. I PM'd him to ask questions, and after getting info I decided to go that route. He even had a video with audio to listen to them on his car. I think they'll be slightly louder on my big block vs. his small block, but still plenty quiet for me.
No X pipe, but I suppose if I think I need one I could add that later. I actually like the sound of systems without the X pipe better myself.
At only $199 the Summit kit is a real bargain. I'll probably weld most of the connections instead of clamping them, but I may clamp to hold them as I fit it all together, then pull the front half off and weld it solid, and just clamp it where it comes off the mufflers to go over the axle.

I appreciate that Pablo! Seems the Green one has changed the topic for this month, so I've accepted the nom.-Vall

I'm not positive but i think the summit exhaust is the same as the jegs brand exhaust i have and for the 2nd gen cars they will exit to the sides just behind the axle coming out behind the tires.

Well the Summit setup I saw dropped the ends down right behind the spring perches at the back lower valance panel.

Almost all the parts came from Summit today, except for the cranshaft pulley!
The Summit exhaust system is nice and very heavy gauge steel pipes! It does indeed go all the way to the rear spring perch, and turns down beside the rear spring perch.
Here's the Weiand hi flow water pump and brackets for alternator and power steering:

I need to put a seal kit in my power steering pump, as I want it perfect before installing all these new pieces. Got the kit at NAPA today, so I'll get it rebuilt this week while I'm waiting for the weekend to do the rest.

Nice stuff, I thought you were going with a long pump? Unless the pic is playing tricks, it looks like a shorty to me.

Got my Summit exhaust system on today! Weather guessers said rain, but it was just cloudy this afternoon, so I rushed home hoping to at least get my old exhaust off.
I spent about 3 hrs. tearing the old off and installing the new system, and it went better than I could have hoped for! Had to cut the two straight pieces that connect to the inlet side of the muffler about 5", but other than that it was a bolt in.
It's a little throatier than my old exhaust system that I threw together from scratch, but inside the car it's actually quieter. My old system stopped at the axle so noise echoed in the car. The new puts all the noise out the back, so everybody else gets to hear it!
Didn't really get into it on my test drive, but enough to know it will draw a lot more of the wrong attention when I do! Gonna have to be careful where I am if I really get into it!

Back to a positive direction after the fiasco with my brackets and pulleys! Today I finally got my windows adjusted close enough to allow me to reinstall my interior trim on the doors! I've got to let the weatherstrip seals settle in a bit to relax totally, but at least I don't have all that sharp metal next to me begging to slice my arm open if I move the wrong way!
Makes the interior just a tad quieter too!
This is an old picture of when I first fitted them right before paint, but they still look the same after months stored in the garage rafters!
