I looked at that way of mounting, but the smaller part of the L bracket is too narrow for the round tubing. It measures 1" and the tubing is 1.25". I'll just stick with 2"x2" angle when I build the 2nd set for my friend's car.

great thread. very informative, specially for a muscle car noob like me. Got a 71 that needs some major work done, so i'm starting slowly. but interior and windows are begging for attention. You did an excellent job on yours, congrats!

Nope; there's just certain things I don't use and they're hers! The washer, dryer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, etc. are all HER's. I don't even know how to run them, nor do I want to learn. Had to ask her to turn it on to get the covers warmed up.
Didn't want to screw something up and be put off limits to going near it! Last time she asked me to wash the dishes I dropped a glass and broke it. Now she wont let me help!

My wife is old school. She wants me to do the manly stuff like going to work, fixing her car and mowing the lawn. She does the house stuff. Seems to have worked well for the last 35 yrs.!
