If you have a couple of lifters already ticking, it can be hard to get them set right. Start with finding the ones that are making noise. With the engine running use a screwdriver, hold it on the end of each rocker arm and listen. When you hold it on one that is ticking the sound will change. Tighten that one until it is silent and move on until all ticking is gone. Now you can easily hear the ticking begin as you loosen each rocker. Back them out till they make noise then tighten until they do not. Once quiet give the rocker nut an additional 3/4 turn. After 16 rockers are done you are finished.
