Default 81 v6 to 1st gen v8 swap...

I'm at the point of installing the 383 stroker and am looking for advice on the engine side motor mounts...anyone else have experience with proper mounts needed...someone said use the early truck mounts...any help would be appreciated...thanks

This motor was built by my 15yr old with professional supervision...its his car...he'll be 16 in 3 weeks... Over 50 hrs he has in porting and polishing the heads... He did a great job...

I think you just want the standard V8 mounts. Except for the early 2nd gens GM used a standard mount for all V8s. This was the same design used in early big block 2nd gens. You can use the truck mounts but the carb will be above the stock hood..

Thanks...that was my concern...my builder read somewhere that it needed the truck mounts to work but it only looks like there is a difference in height between the stock and truck mounts...and the truck mounts are expensive and hard to find...thanks for the help...

The only thing that comes to mind on why you would not want stock height would be a header issue. If the tubes are so large they wont fit at stock height.
