I just installed an OE steering wheel on my 79Z. I noticed that there is a gap between the wheel and the column, check photo, Is this gap normal? Also , is this the correct wheel for a 79 Z28 With the standard interior option?

 

my 78 has about the same gap,i couldnt tell you if the steering wheel is the right one or not.my steering wheel looks the same only smooth and mine is not a z-28

 

The rope wrap looking wheel is correct for Z-28s, It should not matter what int. opt. My 79 & 80 Zs have the same wheel.

 

the gap seems to be the same as mine. dont know for sure though

 

I thought it was the right wheel, just had to make sure. I did'nt like how it fit with the lock plate cover installed, but it drives alot better now than with that little 13 inch Grant wheel on her. Thanks for the help.
