Default 79 tilt steering column

I am needing help on my 79 Z28 steering column looked online and nothing shows which way the top bearing goes together and which way it faces, is it pressed in?

Unless you have some old ball aftermarket collum there are no press fit bearings. I am not sure what you mean by top bearing. Do you mean the bearing on the right below the steering wheel but in the tilting section? If I remember right this bearing has round ***** and a cage on one side. It is an angular contact bearing. There is a race in the title section then a cup that goes next that is the other side of the race. Just be sure the cage does not touch anything when you assemble. the bearing and you are good. I don't remember if the is a right way. I cannot remember seeing one and saying they got that backwards. Once it all together you need to compress the spring then a snap ring holds everything together.

Sorry I am a little fussy Collums where one of my specialties, but I have done so many designs they blend together. I picture would help.
