First sign it was a 79 was the dash. The 78 has early sec. gen and 79 and later are well later. I don't think its a z either sorry. It doesn't have a z gas cover badge or black window trim. All could have been changed, but I'm a very good Camaro spotter. Zs will also have a black strip through the middle of the tail lights. Z28 horn button and bigger sway bars. Not tryin to **** on your parade. Just tryin to help you figure it all out now before you go buying parts for a z. You can run the vin on the nasty site to get the down low on exactly what you have. Its still a very clean Camaro. And no one really cares if is "real" or not. My 78 is real, my 79 is not. But unless the numbers were ran or someone asks (I wouldn't lie) you couldn't tell. All the 78 z parts are making there way to the 80.

 

from vin it came up z28, but alot of the parts have been replaced in the last 10 years, just not kept up on so now i have to replace them, ie the gas door and tails

 

you got her, you must be happy as a pig in sh*t lol. That sucks about the date but it's still a kicka$$ car. you still gonna keep the front spoiler? 79 came with the front but not the back flares. I love those fender vents, i need a set for my 78 and i only have 80-81 vents, wanna trade lol.

 

i want the single scoop vent... is that what you have? because yes i will trade lol
and the years not a big deal, i dont really care if its 78 or 79, and no im not keeping any of the flares
