I have taken off the window crank pretty easily..I need to know how to put the new one on..the problem is I can't get the clip to hook onto the actually door..it seems like I need a special tool..help please

 

The clip slides sideways into the slot on the back of the crank. Then you just push the crank onto the shaft, and the spring clip expands and snaps into the recessed part of the shaft. No special tool to put it on, only taking it off (the easy way).

 

And be sure you've got the clip on the right direction! One side of the crank has a raised area and the other doesn't Be sure the clip goes on from the raised side not the other. You can't install the clip after the crank is in place, install it before.

 

thanks guys that helped alot i thought you had to hold the crank in place then somehow try to manage to fit the clip onto the window crank shaft
