Big block Chevys in a Camaro are pretty roomy! I can change spark plugs with just a socket on a rachet, no extensions! Plenty of room around the steering column, and suspension. My headers dropped right in from above by just pulling the spark plugs, and dropping them in from above!
The oil filter and starter drop right out without removing anything else! I've worked on a lot of small block Camaros with headers that had much less clearance than my BBC does.
